A lost branding opportunity

January 10th, 2008 · No Comments

Tony, a web developer friend of mine and I were talking about email blasts, and he was researching different companies that offer email services. I get several email blasts from people who use one company, who I like because the company offers a very simple way of unsubscribing at the bottom of the email,  but I could not tell Tony the name of the company.

This is what is at the bottom of the all emails sent by people who use the one company.

I was a bit suprised that I could not find the name of the email service anywhere within the email. By mousing over the links provided to unsubscribe, I figured out it was Constant Contact. But why make it so hard?

Constant Contact may have their reasons for not putting a simple, low key link to their company on the bottom of the emails sent, but I doubt people who use their service nor those that receive the emails would mind. In my case, I really like how their service works, so I want to spread the word about what they do. Isn’t that the holy grail of marketing: friend to friend referall?
