I just watched Live Internet TV

September 20th, 2007 · 3 Comments

My friend Kathryn Jones has been working on a project to produce a live webisode drama, that will they will perform live September 19th -30th, 2007, wednesday through sunday, 9 PM est.

I just watched the first episode, and it just struck me how amazing this was. A group of people, not associated with a TV network or deep-pocketed producers, just put a show out for the world to watch on the Internet, live.

Yes, we can all put a video on the web, but to do a live 3 camera drama, bootstrapping the whole thing, is amazing.

You can watch the show and the teaser shorts at synchronis.tv You can watch a cached version of the first episode on Ustream.tv

After watching, I went to Johnny Goldstein’s site and participated in a live video chat about the first show. I watched Johnny talk with Nicholas Butler in England, who woke at 3 am to watch the program.

[For future episodes, viewers will be able to chat with the show creators after each episode.]

Words escape me now, mainly because its late and I ate pesto, but this was great to see, it was clear to me that they worked hard and deserve my kudos.

Thanks for stopping by the par-tay. That was fun having Nicholas on. I’m a sucker for an English accent. It is awesome that people can make stuff like “35″ now without having a studio behind them. Very inspiring.
