Yahoo loses credibility with me

August 28th, 2007 · No Comments

Our Yellow Lab, Henry, has had intestinal issues and problems gaining weight. After many visits to her doctors, she is now eating Eukanuba Low Residue dog food, and it has allowed her to gain weight. Our previous pup, Jack, a Beagle, had Irritable Bowel Disease, and again, Eukanuba Low Residue was the one food that he could eat without having a reaction. It is available only as a prescription from your dog’s doctor.

Today I wanted to check the calorie information for her food, and typed a search into Google. I ran across a posting on Yahoo Answers, the question asked was whether Eukanuba Low Residue was a good dog food.

There were several answers and the one voted “Best Answer” by Yahoo members was an answer that could not be more wrong:

”Paws” says: No, it’s actually quite disgusting. I don’t know WHY anyone would buy pet food from a vet…these products have little nutritional value and your vet is making a huge profit by charging you a fortune.

Actually, this food saved our Beagle’s life, and has allowed Henry to look like a Labrador and not a rail thin supermodel. [We tried many of the 'natural' and 'holistic' brands but they did not help.]

We learn from “Paws” Yahoo page that she sells natural dog food.

Obviously, these are user-submitted answers, but the question on the Yahoo page has been ‘closed to new answers’, so no one can post a rebuttal of this nonsensical answer. All this does is allow a lot of fiction to be counted as fact on the net.
