KickApps allows you to add UGC to your own site

I saw Michael Chin demonstrate KickApps suite of widgets that allows a website to have its own version of YouTube, one more way to build community around a site.

Using KickApps you can  create a “video -enabled community with cool, customizable widgets” which looks pretty neat. I can see using this on Gardenfork for viewer submitted photos and videos. KickApps already has a number of large sites using their technology,  DIY Network, Vibe Magazine are two.

What I like is that an embed code is supplied for these user submitted clips, you can email links to friends, and it has RSS feeds. Its very similar to the larger video sites, so there is no learning curve.

Share and Enjoy: These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages.
