Most sites, be they blogs or whatever, have a listing of links along a sidebar. With some of them, if you put your mouse on each link, it may list a short description. I find this useless.
When I go to a blog, I’m interested in where that person goes on the web, but most of the time, the Blogroll or Links listing is just this list of ambiguous names.
On my ‘to do’ list for my sites is a separate page that lists sites I like, and a brief paragraph of what that site is about.
Rupert of TwitterVlog has already created a Links page for his site, and it works well. [ BTW, he will be adding Gardenfork and Real World Green soon ]
Make you Links interesting, give your viewers a reason to check out the sites you like, it also gives them more insight into you. I usually don’t click on Blogrolls that I don’t recognize, but if I knew a bit more about these links, I might just click.
