West African scam artists are scammed on YouTube

February 17th, 2007 · No Comments

I’ve gotten letter like these at my office for what seems like forever. Poorly written photocopied letters asking you to help someone transfer some money, which they will share with you. But first, as a sign of trust, you must put up some of your money, by wiring it to them.

This scam moved onto the internet with the advent of email. Now someone has convinced some scammers, as a sign of trust, in a way, to act out the Dead Parrott sketch from Monty Python. This sketch is one where a pet shop owner argues with a customer over the dead parrot he sold the customer.

“He’s not dead, he’s just sleeping”

Just a bit surreal. The acting is pretty good.
