Steve Jobs talked of the newest gizmo coming out of Cupertino which will allow you to watch movies you’ve downloaded thru iTunes on your television. Firing up the desktop machine today I’m prompted to download the newest version of iTunes so I can buy those movies. The first movies are from Disney, and as the NY Times points out, Jobs is a large sharehholder of Disney.
Apple Plans to Inhabit Living Room
I think Apple will succeed with this. Their Airport Express is brilliantly simple, and to hook up another wire to your TV is a natural extension. The movies will not be DVD quality, but will it matter? On HD TV maybe, but we now watch YouTube, and a lot of its content looks abysmal.
My Apple Powerbook lost its hard drive for the 2nd time in one month, but a trip to Tekserve, and a short wait puts in a new one. We’ll be back to more regular blogging soon. Tekserve is one of the best run stores i have ever been in. The employees actually like working there, and are very knowledgeable.
